Ultrasound Showed Shadow In Uterus. History Of Hysterectomy For High Endometriosis. On Vivelle Patches For Severe Headache. Any Ideas?

I had a hysterectomy 15 years ago and was told the level of endometreosis (sp?) was so high that would have been enough reason for a hysterectomy. Now at 63 am having problems. I had an ultrasound and the doctor was told that there was a shadow on my uterus. I told her, "That's funny as I have NO uterus". She is not happy and couldn't wait to get a hold of the ---- radiologist?. could this be endometriosis? (sp?) I have been on Vivelle patches for about 10 years. .1 and for many years also .375. Yes, both patches or I got severe headaches at the back of my head, so I had no choice --- Vivelle or no life. Wanting to have a clue now, rather than wait. J

Hi and thanks for the query,

It sounds a bit unusual. It might necessary to have another opinion with respect to this. However, an ultrasound is not a very specific test. In case there are tissue in the uterine space area, it might be possible for her to make such n error. It is always important to give clinical details to the doctor to facilitate interpretation of results. It might b necessary to get a complete clinical review from another physician. A repeated abdominal ultrasound and a CT scan of the abdomen could be more informative. Severe headaches might deserve te opinion of the neurologist. Thanks and kind regards.
