Unable To Unclog Arteries In Stomach, Surgery Not Recommended. Second Opinion Required?
I have been diagnosed with hardening of the arteries in my stomach. A Vascular Surgeon tried to unclog two of the arteries but was unsuccessful. He said by-pass surgery was his only other option, but he did not think I would live thru the surgery. He suggested I look at Mayo for a second opinion. The pain is almost unbearable and I have lost 80 pounds. Do you think any doctors at Mayo could help me?
They probably could. I would like to know your age and whether you have any history of heart disease. If your two main arteries were not cleared by endovascular means which he would have tried then bypass surgery is the only other option. You can try another attempt at unclogging(Endovascular) at a different center. Let us know if you have any other query but let us know your age and heart condition at that time. Take care
