Underside Of Tongue At The Back Of Throat Is Extremely Sore, Swollen. Reasons ?
Hello :)
My name is AAAA and for the last two weeks the underside of my tongue at the back of my throat has been extremely sore as if I have sprained it. It first started at the base of my throat at the area where your collarbone meets your neck, it was very tight/swollen and painful. after 3-4 days the pain ahs disappeared in that area but has moved up to the underside of my tongue since. When I'm not using my tongue for anything (just sitting there) it still hurts and swallowing/drinking are painful while chewing and swallowing food is not that troublesome. This has begun to disrupt my sleep throughout the night and the saliva glands are constantly dumping saliva into my mouth causing me to try to swallow a lot more often than usual. In the morning I have to clear my throat as carefully as I can to get the mucus like substance (foggy white colour) out of my throat that feels like it's stuck at or coming from the spot in my throat where the pain and swelling first started. I've had my tonsils removed when I was 16 and I'm now 28 have had 3 kids, I smoke 12-15 cigarettes a day and have a beer on occasion (not frequent maybe 3-4 times a yr) with friends.
Any insight into my situation you could provide would be VERY much appreciated and thank you for your time. :)
