I m a 33 years old XXXXXXX man, noted to have unilateral chronic ( 3-4wks) tonsillar enlargement. Initially it s accompany with acute inflammation n sore throat , these were treated with T. Augmentin 625mg bd for a wk but the swelling persisted with moderate remission in size. Noted to have unilateral hearing diminished over the similar side (i.e. right side) for a day. Otherwise well. Pls advice.

Dear customer,
It seems that you are suffering from sub-acute tonsillitis to chronic tonsillitis and is caused immune response to bacterial or viral cause.
The oral antibiotics like augmentin, cephalexin, ofloxacin may be needed for 2-3 weeks along with anti-inflammatory drugs like motrin, advil etc.Th iv antibiotics may be needed in some cases.You should consult the ent doctor for the prescription drugs.
You should also do the warm saline gargles to decrease the bacterial or viral load.
The surgical resection or tonsillectomy is required in some cases not responding to drugs and medical management.
