Hello and welcome to HCM,
Appearance of ulcers on the external genitalia after unprotected sexual contact can be due to
sexually transmitted disease (STDs).
Painful ulcers on the genitalia can characteristic of
syphilis.
Is there any discharge from the genital tract.
If yes, then the discharge needs to be examined to look for any infection.
Other STDs like Hemophilus ducreyi, Chlamydial infection,
donovanosis, etc can also lead to ulcerations and / or
lymph node enlargements.
However, ulcers in these infections is associated with pain.
The syphilitic ulcers are hard with indurated base.
You need to consult your
dermatologist / veneralogist for clinical examination, investigations and appropriate management.
You and your partner need to abstain from sexual activity till the infection clears away.
Your partner also needs to be treated along with you.
Thanks and take care
