Upper Right Leg Hurt. Severe While Walking. Why Is The Pain When Leg Is Straight?
Upper right leg hurts like a toothache pain. When I walk in mall, by the time I get back to my car I have to lift my leg up to get in. Pain subsides by the time I drive home. The only other time it hurts is at night if I sleep with my leg straight. If I keep it bent, it does not hurt. I am a secretary and sit a lot at my desk. I don t feel the pain at all while sitting.
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Is there any localized swelling /persisting bruise at the injury site?
You may have soft tissue injury or hairline fracture.
You should consult with orthopedic surgeon and go for x ray of the affected leg on urgent basis.
If hairline fracture is present then there is requirement of plaster.
If soft tissue injury is present then it will heal spontaneously although it may take time.
If your condition wont improve then you should go for arthroscopy of affected right knee for clarification.
Thanks,
Dr.Mayank Bhargava
