Upper Thigh Pain, Weakness. Mostly When Active. Ultrasound Normal. Suggestions?
My husband has been experiencing upper thigh pain and weakness in his right upper thigh. He notices it mostly when he is active not when he is resting in bed or sitting in a chair. He has been seen by a chiropractor and has had a ultrasound for blood flow . Both are good. This has been going on since summer. Any suggestions ?
The problem may not be in the blood flow but it may be in the spine (lumbar spine) from which the nerve supply emerges. However, a Physical examination is mandatory to assess this since there are variety of other causes that needs to be ruled out.
He may need an X ray and MRI of lumbar spine to know the cause of problem. A Orthopedic surgeon or a Neurosurgeon are relevant specialist for this kind of a problem.
