Urinary Urgency, Prostate Growth Spurt, No Infection
Hi i m a 16 year old male teenager who has urinary urgency , i have went to the doctors and they said it was not a infection and told me to go see a urologist i have not seen one but i looked online and found that it could be because of a prostate growth spurt, i have had this feeling for a while now, about 2 months or so please help me i asked for some urgency pills but the doctor said no please help me
hi, there can be several causes of urgency, including infection in urine or prostate. however, 'prostate growth spurt' is not a cause for the same, it happens in all male teens at puberty. Prostate growth occurring after 50 yrs of age can cause problems, not at your age. If you are not satisfied with current treatment, consult a urologist. Also, avoid fizzy drinks/tea/coffee, keep fluid intake to upto 8-10 glasses/day. More fluid intake means more trips to the toilet. Try diverting your mind when your urgency begins, gradually you may be able to hold urine for longer time. good luck.
