Urine Test For Culture And Sensitivity Taken. What Does The Result Indicate?
hello doctor :) my gf took a urine test for culture and sensitivity.... she has received the report and it says culture - insignificant growth in culture after 24 hrs of aerobic incubation at 37'C colony count - less than 1,000 CFU/ml of urine ( can u please help me with this report if the urine infection is too much. what does she have to do not to have this infection again what are the reasons ?)
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
If she is having UTI and took some antibiotic result of culture may come like this which is insignificant and other possibility is sample contamination.
If she has fever and urinary burning and frequency she needs treatment with urinary specific antibiotics and plenty of fluid to keep urinary tract flushed.
A repeat urine test is required to check infection is cleared or not.
You must visit a Physician/Gynecologist to examine and prescribe accordingly and if required Abdominal ultra sonography may be done to rule out causes like kidney stones.
Please take care
Good Luck.
