Hello ,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic forum.
Sticky urine is caused by mainly presence of glucose or sugars in urine also called as glycosuria .
This can occur in case of
1. any infection or pathology of kidneys or
urinary tract like, Uti, nephropathy,
renal tubular acidosis, etc
2.Any endocrine or metabolic disorder like diabetes,
hyperthyroidism,
cystinosis, glutaric aciduria etc.
3.In infants
dehydration and electrolyte disturbances can be a common cause.
In your daughter the most probable cause for the persistence of sticky urine can be the aftereffects of the
urinary bladder infection, or dehydration.
Since you haven't mentioned any other symptoms which would indicate a more serious cause like, refusal to feeds, irritability, vomiting, persistent fever, lethargy etc and her renal function has been found to be normal on scan and urine & blood investigations, I would advise you to wait and watch for a week more.In the meantime ensure that she is frequently fed and kept well hydrated and her repeat urine culture shows complete cure of the infection.if cured her urine examination should now be absolutely normal.
If inspite of this you find persistent sticky urine then you should consult her
pediatrician to carry out tests for ruling out other endocrine or metabolic disorders .
Hope that answers your query.
Wishing her good health forever.
Regards
