Using Steroids For A Long Time. Headaches And Difficulty In Talking. Normal Lumbar Scan. Side Effect?
I have been using steroids for the past 16 years , with no problems but since a year ago I have been having irregular head aches and my speech is affected the past 8 months I can't get my words out.
I have had scans and lumbar puncture and all clear .
What could it be ?
Been told that could be down to steroid use or could also be down to the stressful last 2 years I have had ???

Hello,
You have been using steroids for the past 16 years. Indication ?.
Normally steroids are secreted by adrenal gland located on top of each kidney.
It is indicated for so many conditions. It has to be taken for a short period with gradual reduction of the dosage.
When you take steroids the adrenal gland function of secreting natural steroid will be affected. So it is reduced gradually so that the adrenal will start its function normally.
There are lots of side effects of prolonged usage, few examples are Diabetic, hypertension, weight gain and fluid retention.
Your irregular headache should be due to the side effect of prolonged use.
The cause of your headache need not be revealed in CT Brain or CSF analysis.
First decide to stop it. But for this you need Dr’s advise regarding the reduction of dosage.
Your muscles might have been weakened for which you have to perform
1) Few exercises to tone up the muscles.
2) Take less caloric diet
3) Multiple vitamin and calcium supplements are also recommended
Along with this you have to reduce your stress by whatever means possible for you. If need seek Dr’s help
With this steps and strong will power whatever lost can be regained
