Uterine Scan Revealed Retroverted Uterus And Cyst With Septations. Is Uterus Removal The Only Treatment?

i am 45 yrs old, having 2 children . In my scan report the uterus is retroverted and bulky measures 103.o x 56.8 x 45.4mm Endometrium measures 8.4mm and also a cyst with septations measuring 35.6 x 22.9 mm noted in right adnexa
pls inform us whether i have to remove the uterus along with right and left ovary or any other suggession is
there.

Hi,
In the current scenario, if you do not have any symptoms, you can wait with watchful expectancy and careful follow up to see if the cyst regresses spontaneously. Since you are already in the peri-menopausal age, observation is mostly useful. Else, you may have to go for the cyst removal. It may be decided at surgery if the ovaries can be salvaged in which case the uterus may also be retained if there is no associated pathology. Hope you find this information useful.
