Uterus Bulky, Anteverted, Cervix Homogenous, Multiple Follicles, PCOD. What Is Going On?

i am 22 years old girl. i had an ultrasound. my reports of ultrasound was uterus is bulky in size and anteverted. it measures 9.1*3.1*5.6 cm. myometrium is homogenous. endometrial complex is bulky measuring 22.87 mm. cervix is homogenous. internal os is closed. both ovaries are increased in volume with multiple follicles arranged peripherally s/o PCOD measuring 4.6*2.3*2.8 cm( vol-15.52 ml) on left side and 5.4*2.5*3.3 cm on right (vol-22.89 ml). no free fluid is seen in pod.any thing to worry?? what should i do?? i will be allright or not?

The report just describes the findings which are suggestive of your preexisiting condition, PCOD. It also mentions increased endometrial thickening. To comment on it I'd need the day of your menstrual cycle which you did the scan. If it was near a period it also is normal.

The main concern of PCOD is difficulty in conception and its androgenic side effects.

Treatment options focus on
1. Reducing the insulin resistance which is thought to be the basic pathology.
2. Inducing ovulation to treat the infertility problem.
3. Surgical options like ovarian drilling may also be required in some cases.

Regular follow up and treatment by a Gynaecologist will help you to lead a normal life and help you to conceive. He/she may do some hormonal estimation studies also.
