Had a blow in the face approx 3 years ago on my cheek bone area just under the eye Immediately there was a bright arc of light in my vision and a blind spot Was referred to eye infermery and given full examination where the doctor found nothing wrong with my eye, even when I explained I couldn t see a large part of his face when talking to him Three years on my eye has settled but blurrs up regularly in that eye and when I play football my vision has a sort of zig zag flashing hazyness which will last for hours before settling Look forward to your reply Thank you

Hello

You should get a vision test done for your eyes and a perimetery should be done in the affected eye where you expirience the hazyness. This will help in knowing the visual defect if any and scotoma (blind spot) explained by you. Depending upon the findings, further investigations might be needed.

Meanwhile, you can consult a vitreo-retinal surgeon also who will find out any abnormalities in the posterior segment of the eye. Depending upon his findings, treatment will have to be initiated.
