Vomiting After Giving Formula Milk Using Filtered Mint Water For Colic Treatment. Advice?
I gave formula milk using filtered mint water(boiled) which somebody suggested for colic treatment. But my three week baby vomiting twice and pooping eventually. I am worried. She looks normal and I fed her the breast milk. I suspect she may vomit again. Kindly advice. It has happened ow. I fed mint water milk Five hours before.
At first i would like to advice to give feeds using paladai and stop using bottles if you practice it. Next try to breast feed her as much as possible.
Mint water are are not advised for babies especially less than 1 month of age. But it has been in practice for a long time, her vomiting may be due to any infection or allergy.
The best treatment is observing the baby, few kids vomit once or twice and than get better.Give her feeds when she demands (cries).
If she continues to have vomiting , loose stools, reduced activity, refusal of feeds then medical attention should be obtained immediately as any mild infection in newborn can be threatening.
Thank you for the consultation in healthcare magic.
