Hello and thanks for asking us,
I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
I understand you problem and also your desire to have more children.
The first thing that you must get checked as of now are your hormone levels and also an ovulation study to see if ovulation is occurring. I suggest this as you are already 40 and if periods are irregular, ovulation defects may be there. The ovulation study will also look for the condition of the uterus and ovary and any cysts in the ovary.
Estrogen excess or perimenopausal period are the two likely possibilities.

If these are normal. Try to use a ovulation predicting kit and keep contact on days of ovulation for a few months.
It is also advisable to consult a infertility specialist with all the reports as a little bit of assistance with drugs to achieve ovulation and pregnancy will most likely be needed.

So there is a chance. Get yourself checked and you will conceive.

I hope I answered the question to the best of my capacity and have managed to satisfy your query.
Thanks for using HCM.
Have a good day.
