Weird Habit Of Counting Things. Will I Be Laughed At If I Bring This To Anyone?

Hi, my name is Nikki! For as long as I can remember I've always had this weird habit of counting things. If I see a word I'll count all the letters in the word or in a sentence I'll count all the letters, spaces, and punctuation. I also have a weird habit of adding up numbers I see multiple times (odd numbers, even numbers, multiples of a number), and I have a habit of counting steps I take. If I'm sitting in a room too long, I'll count the number of items in the room of a certain color. I'm scared to bring this up to anyone in case I get laughed at.

Hi, there is nothing wrong in counting. The behaviour to me shows signs of anxiety. Try deep breathing exercises. When prompt for counting, try to busy yourself in some activity like music, book's, exercise etc. As you engage urself in other activities, this habbit will go off. Deep breathing will help you a lot, all the best
