Went For My First Ultrasound About A Week Ago Doctor

Went for my first ultrasound about a week ago doctor said i was 8weeks and 5days but the had no heartbeat i was rudely tild i was miscarriageing and that nothing could be done i still havent started miscarriageing yet and still feel pregnant... Could the doctor have been wrong ??
