What STDs Can One Get From A Hand Job At A Massage Parlor?
I am a 21 years old individual currently enrolled in medschool. Recently I went on a trip with one of my friends in Asia where I had a massage with a'happy ending' i.e. handjob. During the massage I have also changed my shorts into the one offered by the massage parlour. I am not sure how well sanitized they are. What are the possible disease that I am risk at and what measures should I take. I believe HIV is highly unlikely to transmit through a handjob but I have certain doubts about HPV, Herpes, Syphilis, Chlamydia and Trichomoniasis. Could you please advice me on what to do or whether my doubt and fears are irrational?
Hello and thanks for your question. It's my first priority to help you. Well I really assure you that you are most likely safe. As a handjob at a massage parlor typically does not pose any risk for STDs, even if the handjob is performed by an individual that would be high risk for sexual contact. It requires sexual contact for transmission of STD germs. For most STD germs, it would require penetrative sex, but there are a couple germs, herpes and HPV, that are transmitted by skin-to-skin contact, but it would still typically require genital skin to come in contact with genital skin for transmission to occur. There is a theoretic risk that the hands could transmit one of the skin contact germs, but even this is exceedingly rare. Hope this helps.
