Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Abnormality In The Urine Content Attracts Black Ants?
My urine recently has been attracting black ants (not many though, about 5-7) they just hang around the bowl and at times are found dead in it. This mostly occurs if I take a carbohydrate meal. Realy occurs when I take a high protein diet. Occurs too after taking sweet fruits for a day or two then stops. No ants have been observed close to discarded underpants.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Ants on urine are mainly because of high sugar content. Now, high sugar content in urine can be due to diabetes or sometimes glucosuria/fructosuria. These are asymptomatic condition which might be there. I would suggest getting yourself examined for the special investigation to rule out diabetes mellitus or asymptomatic fructosuria/glucosuria. Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akshay
