What Are Bleeding And Vaginal Discharge In Between Periods Suggestive Of?

HI, I have been having symptoms of stds. I experience very heavy bleeding during my periods and light bleeding in between my periods. I also have been experiencing vaginal discharge, that has been on going for a while. I have been tested for stds multiple times over the past year. All of my results have came back negative, I am unsure what the problem is, can you help?

Hi,

Heavy menses and bleeding in between the periods is a matter of concern. I would advise you for a battery of tests like blood for CBC and hemoglobin to assess the amount of blood loss and rule out anaemia, liver function with coagulation profile, an ultrasound pelvis to find out any gynaecological disorder like fibroid, endometriosis, polyp and inflammation or uterine cavity or cervix.

In my opinion you should consult a gynecogist as per your convenience for physical examination and above mentioned investigation to establish exact diagnosis and timely treatment. You may require iron folic acid supplements or blood transfusion in case if you have lost significant amount of blood or you are anaemic. Meanwhile maintain good hygiene and have lots of fluids and keep yourself well hydrated.
