What Are Blue Veins On Forehead, Stomach And Legs Of A Child Suggestive Of?
Hi my son is 10 about 2 months ago I noticed blue veins on the sides of his forhead and stomach. Now I ve noticed veins down the back of his legs as well. He s also developed a brown small spot of his face and his bones often click when he walks. My partner took him to the doctors last week he checked him over and put it down to the fact that he suffers every 2 to 3 weeks from severe tonsillitis and his sleeping pattern being disturbed. However after looking up his sysmptoms werner sydrome kept coming up. I m really worried and scard.
The presence of visible veins over forehead, stomach and legs with recurrent tonsil inflammation may be part of underlying immune deficiency associated with collagen synthesis issues where the layers below skin are thin and transparent to some extent showing up veins. I would recommend a consultation with immunologist for further detailed evaluation and find out pattern of problem as that of B or T cell disorder or combined immune deficiency state.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
