Hi Im a 59 year old female, very good health just found out I have some calcifications in my breast I am scheduled for surgery in a week, will this have anything to do with the fact i wake up and throw up every night, could cancer have spread to possibble other parts an dthats whats making me sick?
These are calcium deposits in the breast that show up on a mammogram. These are more likely to occur after menopause and are usually benign (non-cancerous) however, clusters of tiny, irregularly shaped calcifications may indicate an early breast cancer. At the moment it is difficulty to say that the vomiting could be due spread of the cancer. It is only after the biopsy and other tests such as the CT scan the possibility of cancerous changes could be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
