I've found a swelling(lump) behind my right tonsil. It is quite distinguishable but no white cysts. I've recently found it hard to swallow but only in the evenings. Half the day it's fine but after towards evening it's hinder eating a little. Infection or more? Appearance has been there for about a week or so

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi welcome to healthcare magic forum,
I have gone through your query & understand the problem you are facing.
Your history seems that you are having tonsillitis (infection of tonsils), because of that you are having difficulty in swallowing. But it needs to be examined locally by an ENT surgeon for further guidance.
1.Meanwhile you can use saline water (salt water) gargling, 3-4 times in a day. 2.Avoid cold items(cold drinks, cold water etc) 3.Use some antibiotics under guidance of your doctor...I usually prescribe my patients tab-Azithromycine 5oomg once daily dose.
NO need to worry much.IT can be cured soon with proper medication.
Regards, Thanks.
