What Are Chances Of STD If The Sperm Comes In Contact With An Open Wound?
Hi Doctor. i recently(last week) had an incident with a man, which i won't call sex. He said he was disease-free. The man never inserted his penis in my anus, instead just had it above my buttocks and just rubbed it against me and he finally came. I have a small cyst above my anus which is open. If the semen came in contact with my cyst and if he did have an HIV infection, am I at a risk for infection? I am going through a lot of anxiety right now! :( Please help
The risk of acquiring HIV is always high with unprotected sex. If we suppose that the semen had the virus, and it may have come into contact with the open cyst, there is definite risk!! since the virus would enter the blood stream directly from the break in the skin.
I would suggest you to get a blood test e.g Rapid HIV test at 1 month after risky sexual contact (detects antibodies, most of the patients have detectable antibodies by 1 month) OR a HIV combo test at 1 month (detects P24 antigen, as well as antibodies and is thus more sensitive).
If the test comes out to be negative, there is 99.8% chance that you would be HIV negative, but still a repeat test at 90 days (to cover for the window period of HIV) is required to accurately rule out HIV.
Regards
