I am in menopause. I have had a physical just end of last year and had an ekg, which showed some abnormalities. they recommended a nuclear stress test. I stayed tired and slightly dizzy most of the time. ..I m unsure about having one done. I am 49 yrs old, no known genetics of heart issues. do you think it would be a problem to postpone the test? There are other medical issues I would rather target on.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Though Heart problem can not be a sign of menopause, women are more prone to heart problems after menopause because of lowering of female hormone estrogen. I think if ECG shows abnormal findings, & you are unable to undergo nuclear stress rest, you should visit a heart specialist 7 get investigated with procedures like angiography , find the cause of problem & follow doctor's advise. thanks.
