What Are Effects Of Not Taking Seizure Medications?

My 21 yr old Autistic son developed epilepsy one yr ago. He has been on 200mg Lamotrigine twice daily...6am & 6pm. I was court ordered to allow him to spend the last 14 days with his estranged father...who does not like medicine/pills. My son returned this afternoon & at 6pm I gave him his Lamotrigine as usual and his 100 mg Quetiapine that he takes at bedtime. When I went to set out his morning pills ( 50mg Sertraline/40mg Omeprazole & 200 mg Lamotrigine) I counted the pills left in the bottle. BASED ON # OF PILLS IN ALL 4 BOTTLES, MY SON WAS NOT GIVEN ANY OF HIS MEDICATION THE PAST 14 DAYS. What do I do now? Can he overdose on me giving him his normal dose 3 hrs ago? Do I need to titrate the seizure med up again?? Please help.

Hello,

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that stopping medication for seizure can be a reason for re-occurrence of seizures. Kindly consult your treating physician to run same brain test , if it comes back normal then you can stop it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
