What Are Extreme Pain And Swelling In Right Foot And Heel Suggestive Of?
I have incredible foot pain in my right foot when I take my first steps in the morning or following getting up from a seated position. Pain is in the bottom, front portion of my heal and also noticed the back of my heal where a sandal strap would set, is very painful to the touch. I have enough notice swelling in this area. Not sure if its Plantar Fasciitus or something different. Can you help! Thank you, Liz
The symptoms seem to be related to plantar fasciitis. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. Cold compresses can also be helpful.
I also suggest gentle stretching exercises for relieve. If the symptoms continue I recommend to consult an orthopedist for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
