What Are Loss Of Appetite, Fatigue, Headache And Dehydration Suggestive Of?

19 year old female. I have lost most of my appetite, I ve been tracking what I eat and haven t been able to eat more then 1500 calories a day in the past two weeks. Most days I haven t been able to eat over 1,000. Today I ve eaten around 400 and feel as if I meet anything more I m going to be sick. I m having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I constantly feel faint and dehydrated even though I drink over 8 cups of water a day. I ve had a headache constantly for the past week. I m planning on going to the doctor to get everything checked out within the next week.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Going to your doctor sounds like a good idea. It is difficult to say what is causing your symptoms, but endocrinological issues (diabetes, thyroid) should be investigated along with hemoglobin, electrolytes and liver + kidney function tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
