Hello
Since you are an HEALTH worker and were taking blood form an
HIV infected patient .
Unfortunately a drop of blood splashed into your eyes. Since you are a medical personal , so you will understand very well :
Factors that might associated with MUCOCUTANEOUS transmission of HIV include exposure to an unusually LARGE VOLUME ( in your case it was a drop ) , prolonged contact ( but you washed within a second , so no prolong contact ), and a potential portal of entry ( in your case
mucous membrane of eyes were a source but entry was not direct ).
In addition , the risk increases for exposure to blood from patients with ADVANCED-STAGE disease ( so judge whether your patient was in which stage of disease ), probably owing to higher titer of HIV in the blood as well as other factors such as the presence of more VIRULENT STRAINS of virus. The use of antiretroviral drugs .
So no doubt you contracted with blood but according to my experiencing I can say that you didn't got any HIV infection .
However , your doctor prescribed duovir , just as a precautionary measure .
No need of any medicine.
Tiredness and BP are low because of trauma which , you are facing as medical personal .
In future , you will not face in problem but take care next time drawing blood from vein.
Hoe this will help you.
