What Are Painful Abdomen And Mild Fever Post A Kick On Stomach Suggestive Of?

5 year old kicked 6 year old in stomach on accident when they were wrestling. No tears at the time but now 7 hours later he said it hurts. Not a lot just a little he says. He also said he has a sore throat and he has a fever of 101. Does this warrant an ER visit or just wait to call Dr. In Am.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The fever and sore throat are coincidental occurrences and not likely linked to the trauma.
These symptoms may indicate that he is coming down with the common cold with a viral sore throat or bacterial sore throat (viral more common and likely).

If the accidental kick was forceful and he is experiencing pain then he should be assessed for this.

I hope this helps
