What Are Painful Jaw, Chills And Low Grade Fever Suggestive Of?
I woke up at 2 am this morning with a severe headach/jaw ache my headache is better but now i have a severe jaw ache on both sides of my jaw I don't have discharge like a sinus infection but my jaw is killing me. I also have chills and a low grade fever 99
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful jaw, chills and low grade fever which is because of temporomandibular joint dysfunctioning, disturbances in occlusion and bruxism due to stress.
Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you try to relax jaw and do not chew any hard food substances. Mouth guard is an effective treatment method for preventing bruxism.
You should visit dentist once and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly. Doctor may prescribe you muscle-relaxing drugs, such as Cyclobenzaprine. Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation of jaw muscles is an effective physical therapy way.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
