What Are Persistent Pain In Left Shoulder Blade And Gas Suggestive Of?
2 days of severe left shoulder blade pain and gas. I went to dr., normal X-ray and ekg results. Dr.prescribed Acetaminophen-cod#3. The pain continues. Dr. stated probably a muscle pain, but didn t prescribe muscle relaxer due to other Ned s I m on. I believe it s gas. Your opinion, and what follow ups would you suggest ? Thanks
Most probably it will be a musculoskeletal pain like sprain or contusion. You can continue acetaminophen. Warm compression can provide symptomatic relief. Muscle relaxants don’t have much role.
Generally, the symptoms will settle in a few days. If symptoms persist long, it will be better to go for for an MRI scan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
