What Are Recurring Episodes Of Heart Murmur And Flutters Suggestive Of?

So I ve recently went to a cardiologist because of a heart murmur and heart flutters. My EKG and echo came back clear. They said the heart flutters and murmur were normal. The other night I had a weird flutter/spasm in my heart. Its the first time its ever happened. Its very rapid and fast and its repetitive. It lasts a few seconds. I didn t think anything of it until it just happened again a few moments ago. Is that normal?

Hi,

You need to get your thyroid profile checked. As EKG and Echo are normal it is less likely to be structural heart disease or any thing to worry about much however any abnormal rhythm in between the course of the day should be ruled out.

Ideally, you should have 24 hours Holter monitoring to look for any arrhythmia etc.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
