My boyfriend has red clusters on the bottom of both feet. Say s it doesn t itch. He put wart medicine on the bottom of his feet and the skin started to peel. Said the rash went away but now has areas that are peeling. Looks to me now like athletes foot. What should he use to put on his feet?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The red blisters with peeling of skin of heel indicate possible issue with fungal infection which may be tenia or ungual infection. Requires precise care with:
- Local cleaning with antiseptic liquid
- Local application of miconazole cream
- Systemic medications as fluconazole (anti fungal), diphenhydramine
(anti histamine) and supportive care to heal it early. Should avoid walking barefoot and wearing tight shoes. He must keep his blood sugar under control to prevent flare up of the infection.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
