What Are Side Effects Of Cologne Ingestion?

My son had a cologne bottle in his mouth, When I took it from him his breath smelled like it. I m not sure if he just got the smell off the top of the bottle or if he actually drank some. He s sleeping now because he was tierd he is 15 months old. Should I be worried?

Cologne is very harmful if swallowed. the symptoms of cologne poisoning occur within 30 to 40 minutes of ingestion and can be life threatening.
Following are the side effects of Cologne ingestion:

Abdominal pain, decreased level of consciousness or lack of responsiveness
Diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting
Dizziness, headache, inability to walk in a normal manner
Low body temperature and low blood pressure.

Children are particularly prone to developing low blood sugar.
Symptoms of low blood sugar can include:

Confusion, irritability, nausea, and sleepiness.

You are advised to take your son to ER immediately for proper assessment and treatment.
