What Are Sore And Bruised Armpit With Swollen Lymph Node Suggestive Of?
My 17 yr old daughter woke up this morning complaining of soreness in her right arm pit. It appears to be a little bruised and I can feel what may be a slightly swollen lymph node. She is congested and tonight complained about her throat hurting a little. No fever.
First thing that I would like to tell you is that axillary lymph nodes that are present in the armpit are not so easily palpable until they are considerably swollen due to deep location.. Although Lymphadenopathy cannot be denied to be a cause while it can also be due to other causes like hair follicle infection or Folliculitis, cyst etc.. I would suggest you to consult a General Physician and get evaluated and if required he can advise FNAC to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treat you accordingly.. As of now she can take Ibuprofen for pain and do cool compresses.. The Physician can however advice Antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and warm or cool compresses depending upon the exact diagnosis..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
