Occasionally you may have symptoms such as easy fatiguability, increased thirst, increased frequency of urination, decreased healing when ever there is an injury, weakness and so on.. But most often diabetes is detected by testing the blood.. Normal glucose levels varies depending on the duration of fasting.. Blood sugars may be any where between 80 to 110 mg per dl with fasting for minimum of 8 hours.. Following a 2 hours after meal the sugar levels have to be between 110 mg to 140mg per dl.. some of the clinicians consider upto 180mg per dl as nrmal.. That is why this descrepancy of opinion.. You can take it as abnormal to be on a safe side.. you may get a glucose tolerance test.. It may indicate much more clearly if your are diabetic.. Performing an Hba1c test may also help in deciding if you are a diabetic.. And if these test are abnormal you may need to take measures to counter diabetes..
