Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m extremly concerned I have oral herpes, I had some risky sex about a week ago but the girl seemed clean. I got what I thought was a pimple about 5 days ago. I popped it and scrubbed it hard with acne medication. It still hasn t fully healed and im really concerned its herpes. Help me.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pimple after unprotected sex which could be due to herpes simplex virus which occur after coming in contact with infected person like kissing, and it could be due to using cloths or utensils.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain complete oral hygiene. You should apply ice pack to affected area 2-3 times a day and avoid hot and spicy food . Application of aloe vera gel will also be helpful. Consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order viral culture test and may prescribe antiviral drugs like oral/topical famciclovir. Symptoms will go away on their own in 1-2 weeks.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
