What Are The Adverse Effects Of Drug Abuse And Drinking Alcohol?
PLEASE. I AM VERY CONCERNED. I have been worried about my boyfriends drinking for some time now. i didnt worry at the start because i thought he was just drinking a lot because he wanted me to get to know his friends so we were in the pub quite often. But after time i realised that this is not out of order. he is young (24), and for the past few months has been getting very bad pains in his heart. it also comes with breathing difficulties. last thursday(6 days ago) they became worse and i was wondering if his drinking has anything to do with it. unfortunately my concerns didnt stop him going on a drinking bender from friday evening until the early hours of monday morning. friday night between 5-8 pints could be had and then maybe 2 double vodkas and redbull. saturday, as the drinking starts earlier he could have 5 pints during the day and then 5 pints that night and maybe 3 - 4 double vodkas and redbulls and shots. on the sunday it would be the same as the saturday but more pints during the day and less of the vodka and shots at night. (he also used a lot of drugs when he was a teen and has been a heavy smoker since he was very young). we talked on monday(after his weekend long bender) where he complained the pains had gotten severe and he considered cheching himself into the hospital for a chech up. he decided he should go to his Doctor on tuesday instead and his doctor said there was no problem with his heart. however he gave me the impression he didnt tell his doctor about how much he drinks and smokes etc. so when he got the all clear about heart problems he went to celebrate in the pub - with another bender. the midweek bender is not regular but the weekend is what happens every weekend. I am very concerned but he wont listen to me on the basis that "everyone he knows does this". I know this kind of drinking is risking his health but I want to know in more detail and how severe it is. What are the risks and what is the likelyhood of developing heart/liver diseases or anything else.
