Hi doctors. I was living in a house where the house s owner is doing car painting business in the house. I stay there for 4 months until I could another house to move. I read some articles saying that expose of VOCs from paint can cause permanent damage such as nervous system, kidney, liver damages. I went out in the morning and came back in the evening during weekdays, but I mostly stay at the house during weekend. I always kept my room door close to avoid too much VOCs go into my room. When he was painting vehicle, I try to avoid going out my room if possible. However, sometime I need to go out when he was painting, the paint fume smell is very strong and I don t have any face mask. But, it only take a few seconds for me to go out. During the 4 months time, I only go out less than 10 times when he is spray painting vehicle. During the period of staying, I didn t suffer from any side effect at all. And after moving out from there for 2 months, I looks normal and healthy without problems. But I am very scare and concern about any permanent side effect like brain, kidney, or liver damage. Is it possible to suffer from any permanent damage from that?
