What Are The Adverse Effects Of Methotrexate?

My 52 year mother has been suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis from 15 years and she is now given Methotrexate, Fol 5, Shelcal CT. And now from past 3-4 months her pain had increased and so in addition to it she has been given MOBIZOX till the pain persists. Can she be given this till the pain persists or to be discontinued? She had been given MOBIZOX once may be a year back. The doctors are repeatedly told not to take this drug and they had been given Eltram and some other drug but, the pain does not subsided.

Hi,

Mobizox tablet is a combination medication namely chlorzoxazone, diclofenac and paracetamol which is used to treat pain due to muscle spasm. It improves the movement of muscles and provides relief from pain and discomfort associated with muscle spasms. Take it as it is prescribed to get the most benefit. Don't take more or for longer than needed as that can be dangerous. In general, you should take the lowest dose that works, for the shortest possible time. This will help you to go about your daily activities more easily and have a better, more active, quality of life.

Methotrexate belongs to the group of medications known as antimetabolites is used to treat certain types of cancer or to control severe psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis that hasn't responded to other treatments. It may also be used to control juvenile rhematoid arthritis. Its side effects are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, drowsiness, hair loss, mouth sore, diarrhoea, vanemia, easy bruises, black stools, bone pain, dry cough, headache, vision changes, mood changes, irregular heartbeat, seizures, allergic reactions etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
