What Are The Adverse Effects Of Taking I-pill During Pregnancy?
my wife and i had unprotected sex and she took the ipill on the 4th day - which was anyways late. her period was due on the 11th of feb and since she did not get it we did the pregnancy test on the 14th of feb which was positive. we have decided to keep the baby - but i want to know if the ipill will cause any damage to the baby since she did take it.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... I-pill intake can cause various side effects like dizziness, headache, nausea, abdominal pain, uterine pain, irregular menstruation etc. However the side effects on developing pregnancy are negligible, if Ipill is taken as in your case. However it can increase the chances of miscarriage. Major birth defects are not found in any of study. As Ipill was take before concieving or just at same days. It wouuld not cause any damage to developing child. As it has a very short half life of 36 hours & when your baby is developing there would not be any drug left in your body.
Therefore you could continue the pregnancy if are able to despite high chances of miscarriage
Refer to a gynaecologist for more queries
Don't worry you would be fine Hope this information helps
