What Are The After Affects Of Choking On Pizza?

I just almost choked on pizza. I tried to cough it up but it just went down. I can breathe normally and my heart rate is normal. I burped twice a minute after. I do feel a bit of pressure above my stomach though. What should I do? Do I need to see a doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query

No, you should be fine. Seems that the pizza went the right way.
As your breathing and heart rate are normal, there is nothing to worry about. However, if within the next 3 days, you develop, fever, breathing difficulty, stomach ache, chest discomfort, see a doctor to rule out an infection.

I recommend a soft semi liquid diet today and plenty of water. Avoid spicy, oily and hot foods.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
