Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
had kidney cancer and cant find any after effects from the removal.the cancer was non invasive and encapsulated in fatty tissue but because of the size the whole kidney had to be removed.dont know if any of my symptems are related.also found out it might be from contaminated water when I was stationed at camp lejuane north Carolina in late 73 to early 74
The cancer of kidney is usually not due to any contamination but due to contamination there may be an infection, that might cause damage to kidney. As you mentioned that cancer was encapsulated and whole kidney was removed. But I have seen so many patients who survives with ONE KIDNEY even 30-40 years and don't have any after effects. But as far as possible get regular ultrasound of kidney and routine blood examination like serum creatinine, blood urea and blood uric acid.
Hope this information will be helpful for you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Good luck.
Regards, Dr. Het Ram Bishnoi
