What Are The After Effects Of Overdose Of Metformin?

I took my 500 mg Metformin about an hour ago . . . . missed the dose this morning with breakfast. After I took the tablet an hour ago, I was taking my medication for bed, and out of habit, took my nightly Metformin. So, I ve had 2 500mg. tablets in the course of 2 hours. Is this dangerous? I am quite worried.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Nothing will happen with two metformin pills. One gram is a usual adult dose and nothing wrong in taking it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
