What Are The Benefits Of Taking Chlorithiadone And Irbesartan Together?

Is there a benefit to taking Chlorithiadone and Irbesartan together rather than at separate times? Is it harmful if you forget to take chlorithiadone in the morning as suggested I have recorded BP readings & don t know why these see=saw readings? I will take irbesartan in a few minuees without chlorthiadone unless advised otherwise.

Hello,

Chlorthalidone and Irbesartan can be taken together. Usually they are prescribed together in the treatment of severe hypertension. But close monitoring of serum potassium levels is necessary when both these drugs are used together. There may also be drastic fall in blood pressure leading to severe hypotension due to this combination of drugs. Close monitoring is recommended. It's okay if you forget to take Chlorthalidone for 1 day in the morning. Irbesartan can be taken without Chlorthalidone.
