Diabetologist 's  Response
I have gone through your query carefully and understood your concerns.
in my opinion you are having type 2 diabetes and usually in type 2 diabetes pts will need insulin only after 10-15 yrs of treatment with tablets.
the insulin dose what you are using now is also very small.
i suggest you undergo some test called as Hba1c and discuss with your doctor in using medications like sitagliptin and vildagliptin.
the tablets what you are on are very good for diabetes and kindly continue them
i suggest you to consider tablets instead of insulin since it might be very early to use insulin.
Hope I was able to help you.
If you have any further question feel free to write me back. I will be happy to help.
Take care.
Best Regards.
