What Are The Cares And Treatments To Be Done For A Premature Baby?

Hello my seven mth old grandson who was born 7 weeks prem,has been back to the hospital 3 times since birth.He is in hospital again now. Each time we are told he has inflammation of the small intestine and a bug/infection of some kind. He s spends the night on fluid drip and panadol and is sent home till the next time! At our wits end what is going on ..

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Preterm babies are more prone to infections.
Sterilise feeding bottles and utensils used for preparing feeds regularly.
Wash your hands properly each time you feed the baby or nurse the baby.
Keep the bed linen and clothes of the baby thoroughly washed with soap and hot water.
Keep the baby warm.
Feed regularly at short intervals as suggested by your doctor.
These measures prevent infection.
