Had chest x-ray due to frequent cough that I thought was due to a cold. Used OTC cough syrup-Tussin CF, tried coricidin HBP. MD prescribed Benzonatate after first visit, symptoms continued. Second visit 5 days later, had chest x-ray. Radiologist read-Vascular congestion in mid chest area. What is the probable cause of vascular congestion? and probable treatment?
Thanks for your question on HCM. Vascular congestion on chest x ray is known as pulmonary edema. And it is mostly due to cardiac Cause. Mostly heart failure. So get done 1. ECG 2. 2D echo To rule out heart failure. You may need diuretics and other cardiac supportive medicines. So consult cardiologist and discuss all these.
